 Hosting Africa’s first Diner en Blanc was a huge achievement for us in 2012, and sparked off several other Diner en Blanc events across the African continent! Our excitement to host our second event in September 2013 was fueled by our need to solidify Diner en Blanc as an annual event in Kigali and make a mark on the city’s annual events calendar.
Heavy rains, delayed transportation and last minute changes with various authorities threatened the event multiple times in the days leading up to the event. However, with a lot of faith and wonderful facilitation from the Rwanda Development Board and the Kigali City Council, we managed to host an event with nearly double our numbers from the first year, amazing guests and wonderful entertainment.

 We first of all want to thank all the guests who attended and made Diner en Blanc Kigali a success once again. Their creativity and elegance are the reason we had such a memorable event. We would like to thank our guests who came from Uganda, Kenya and Burundi bringing their own style and representing their countries well!
We would like to thank key organisations and authorities of Kigali City who made this event possible. The Kigali City Council who provided amazing facilitation for an event that is incredibly unique and demands as much as it gives back to its city! We would like to thank the Rwanda Development Board for expediting processes and offering sponsored support for our international media. Transportation for our event was provided by Kigali Bus Service (KBS) and authorization by the Rwanda Utilities and Regulatory Authority.

Our featured restaurants that provided catered food baskets for some of our guests included Indian Chef, Shokola, Food & Stuff, Mosaic and Lalibela. Entertainment was provided by the incomparable Mucyo Band and DJ Toxxyc who had everyone on their feet early on.

 The incredible prizes for Elegant and Creative dress were provided by Rwandair and Serena Hotels who offered a combined flight and weekend getaway to one of Serena’s lodges in Tanzania; and Akagera Aviation sponsored helicopter rides over our beautiful country.
